FOREX

Woww,,, never thought that I would be so excited about foreign exchange!!

I guess im becoming a finance kid now…. Yeayyy!!

And to think dat I made the wrong decision for my degree,,, but I dunt think so… hmm hope not!! Xp

Okay,, back to the foreign exchange,,,

I have this subject called FINANCIAL MARKETS… (the one with d French lecturer,, yupp dat’s it ;p )

And part of the course is that we have 4 dealing sessions,, I didn’t know what it was at first, but our first dealing session was today,,

The first 2 sessions are FOREX Market,,, and the other two are MONEY Market,,

So, we went to a room called “the Financial Simulator” at level 3,,

I went there 5 minutes early n I didn’t know anyone there ( my friends took the class on Tuesday already,, n they gave me sum tips,,, but I still don’t understand it)

We had to sit 3 on 3,, so every group has 3 people.. sum has 4 tho,, coz it was full,,

5 groups were acting as the BANK,, the other 5 was Coorporate,,

I was in fact a corporate..

Bank’s target is to earn profit

Corporate target to make funds…

So my scenario was that I had U$40million,, and I had to earn AU$40million and EUR20million, just by exchanging currency,,,,

Aint that cool?????????????

Just by playing around with currency we can earn money!! Hahaha… I just knew that…

But it was actually hard…

I couldn’t read the table,,, it was confusing whether we have to buy/sell.. and what currency we actually buy/sell… so confusing… for 20 minutes our group didn’t phone any banks,,, hahaha.. we were just to confused… we didn’t know whether the rate was right or wrong… coz we didn’t wanna make a losss….

So confusing beyb,,,

There was sum funny stuff tho:

a bank called us to ask whether we want to buy or not… hahaha… we were supposed to be the ones that call them… haha so desperate dehhh…

I phoned a bank, and the funny thing was they didn’t get wat they were doing… I heard sumone said over the phone “I don’t get this,man!” hahaha and I was laughing at them over the phone…

Sumone kept on calling me and hanging up on me…. Really!!... it was like about 5 times.. and d weird thing was it was always my phone… coz there was 3 phones in our desk and it was always my phone… weird… and on the 6^th time I got fed up, when I picked the phone up I said “Corporate H, please don’t hang up on me!!) and he actually didn’t intend to hang up on me… hahaha.. he said “hi, im bank C)… jadi maluuu dehhh

Well,, I didn’t really get the FOREX thing,, but it was fun…

That was only a practice tho,,, next week is d real deal… 3 hours…

I have to read d finance magazines this week and really understand the FOREX stuff…
